I got tired of waiting that Dreamhost solves the server issue & I've started behind-the-scenes rearranging of my domain and most of its sub-domains. This will hopefully help alleviate the recent slowness.

Bad news is this means I'll have to reupload most of the subdomains after I've done some behind-the-scenes ftp and user rearranging, so I expect this project to take at least 4 weeks.

Each of these domains will go off-line while I'm working on them. I'll be making open and close -announcements at http://www.crystalfires.net as I go along. I might post here on my LJ as well, but no promises because posting on one place is enough to remember at the moment.

Sub-domains not affected and which will continue as normal:

caparchives.crystalfires.net

I started with the fanlistings (fan.crystalfires.net) and it is now off-line while I work on it.

The server I'm on has been having NFS problems since late June and my host is working on solving it. Until they do - or move me to another server - I most likely won't bother trying to updates sites, particularly those using Coppermine: I've been trying & it's so slow it's only frustrating. Unfortunately, they don't know when the problems finally fully solved. So until then there'll be slowness and even at times crystalfires.net will be down.

As far as I know, that's not something that I myself can fix and have sent in a support ticket. This could be related to recent slowness which is due to "NFS issues" but I'm not sure. Those two subdomains that work, are managed under a different user(s) than those that aren't, so that's interesting...

crystalfires.net and all subdomains appear all to be working again :) Still haven't heard from support so don't know what it was

EDIT: Heard back from support, and the down time was because of issues requiring reboot. All should be up and working now

crystalfires.net and all subdomains are down. I've informed support but haven't heard back from them yet and anyway if it's something I have to do to fix, I can't until I get home from work in about 6 hours.

I've uploaded HDTV caps from all season 3 episodes up to my Lost site (members-only to keep out spammers).

I've added tags to all the screencaps entries I've posted to this journal, and deleted these from memories. There are two main tags: screencaps: movies and screencaps: tv shows. All the caps are under one or the other, and addition I created other tags like screencaps: hdtv and actor/movie-specific tags as I felt necessary.

There are still a bunch of my screencaps listed in the memories - those that I didn't post here but rather to hdtv_caps or other communities. I'm not sure what to do with those, maybe I'll copy/paste them as back-dated entries here?

The summer's officially here: it got close to 30 degrees celcius yesterday and I'm already fed up with people saying to me "The summer's finally here! It's hot and sunny and isn't it WONDERFUL?" and I'm like, "Sure! If you like being in agony all the time..." Why's is so hard to understand that NOT all people like heat and sun??? And isn't there anything else to say to the person behind the counter? Really, having heard that 20 today and yesterday, I'm now feeling like strangling the next person who says it to me...trust me, I know it's hot outside!

I've updated my Xena site with caps from 1x21 The Greater Good and 1x22 Callisto. These are not up to my usual standards, but are the best I could do with less than perfect DVDs.
